2017-2018 Band Camp Information

Band Camp dates were announced at the Band Banquet. Below are the dates / costs associated with each camp.  Also, attached are the forms needed for band camp.  Any payments sent in for camp will not be processed until after July 1st. As of July 1st the budget for the 2017-2018 year goes into affect.

2017-2018 NDHS Band Camps:


Percussion & Color Guard Camps: August 7 – 9 at First Alliance Church, 1370 Arnold Road, Lexington, NC 27295

  • Times & Lunch Info:

    • 8 am – 5 pm:  Lunch not provided

      • lunch forms must be completed

  • Costs:

    • Percussion Camp is $100

    • Guard Camp is $100

    • Guard Uniform is $125/Guard shoes are $40

   Freshman Camp: August 10 - 11 at NDHS Band Room

  • Times & Lunch Info:

    • August 10:  8 am – 5 pm:  Lunch provided

    • August 11:  8 am – 12 noon

    • Lunch provided on August 10 only

    • No cost

Full Band Camp: August 14 - 18 at First Alliance Church

  • Times & Meal Info:

    • Monday, August 14 - Thursday, August 17:  8 am -8:30 pm 

      • Monday -Thursday: lunch and dinner provided

    • Friday, August 18: 9 am - 5 pm

      • Friday: only lunch provided

  • Costs:

    • Full Band Camp is $250

    • Bibs are $60

    • Band Shoes are $40

    • Gloves are $4/pair

2017 Band Camp Tips & Funnies:


Seriously - Don't Forget your:

  1. WATER, WATER, WATER, & MORE WATER!!!

  2. SUNSCREEN, SUNSCREEN, SUNSCREEN, & OH YEAH, MORE SUNSCREEN!!!


What You Need to Bring to Band Camp:

All students will need the following:

  • music lyre for your instrument

  • flip folder with extra pages

  • 3-ring binder with page protectors

  • a pencil

  • a water bottle

    • Bring it full of Gatorade or water each morning. 

    • We will have more to refill it throughout the day.

  • Tennis shoes and socks

  • Bug spray

  • Sunscreen and hat (optional)

  • Inhaler or medications

  • Knee or wrist brace (if you are prone to have knee problems…bring your brace!)

All Students need to Know:

  • Dress comfortable – it’s going to be HOT
  • You MUST wear tennis shoes while on the field. 
    • You cannot march in sandals or flip flops.
    • You may want to have 2 pairs of tennis shoes (one in case it rains and the field is muddy).
  • All students MUST wear socks. 
    • Once you come into the church, your shoes must be left in the foyer.
    • You are NOT allowed to go around in your bare feet in the church.
  • You may want to bring sun screen and bug spray
    • you WILL be outside most of the day.
    • It has been extremely hot and there are always ants and bees in the field (remember you're invading their territory!).
  • If you have asthma or allergies PLEASE have your inhaler and/or EPI pen on you at all times!!!  
  • If you take any other medications, please bring them with you if you will need them during your stay at camp.

Returning Marchers:

  • Start digging out those bibs, shoes and gloves – check to make sure everything fits.

  • Make sure you have a matching pair of gloves

    • (it’s hard to wear 2 lefts or 2 rights) and make sure that they don’t have holes in them

  • Make sure that you have 2 shoes…stop laughing….several only had one shoe last year!

  • If you need new bibs, shoes or gloves – you can order them at camp.
